EVENING GOLF LEAGUE
WEEKLY EVENTS 2008
Please
circle or designate Chip-Ins and Birdies on your scorecard.
• April 29th-(back) “Back in the Swing”:
Up to five players can play this night, scramble or stroke play.
If 5 team members play, please play a scramble to keep the pace
of play moving. If 4 or less team members
play, feel free to play stroke play as long as you keep pace
with the golfers in front of you. No events or prizes tonight.
• May 6th-(front) “Back in the Swing II”: No event, no
prize, just straight golf with your team to help establish your
handicap.
• May 13th - (back) Low Team Putts (competing w/teams):
This is a team event. Add up the team’s putts. The team with
lowest number of putts wins.
• May 20th- (front) Low Score on Par 4’s (competing
w/flights): Your individual scores on holes 1, 2, 7 and 9. Add
them up. The winner will have the lowest score. One winner per
flight. Keep track of putts for tie
breaker.
• May 27th – (back) Throw Out Your Worst Hole (competing
with flights) Submit your best 8 holes for your score. The
winner will have the lowest score. One winner per flight. Please
write both your regular 9
hole score (for handicap) and best 8 holes score on card.
• June 3rd- (front) “Honest John” Prior to teeing off,
each golfer guesses what she will score and writes the score on
the card. Winner is golfer who scores closest to her guess. One
winner per flight.
• June 10th– (back) Low Team Net (competing w/teams): Add up
your team’s score. Winner will be the team with the lowest net
score (after subtracting handicaps).
• June 17th – (front) Low Score on Even Holes (competing
w/flights): Add up your score on all of the even holes (2, 4, 6,
8). The winner will have the lowest score in each flight. Keep
track of putts for tie breakers
• June 24th – (back) Flight Night #1: Tonight’s the night
to play head-to-head with your competition. Have fun! Winner
will have the lowest score from each foursome. All golfers may
play.
• July 1st – (front) Longest Drive on #4: (competing
w/flights): Four posts/markers will be in the fairway. Find your
correct marker based on your flight. If you drive the ball off
the tee farther (must be in the fairway) than where the marker
is, move the marker to your ball, cross off the last person’s
name and put your name under theirs. The winners will have the
longest drive in the fairway, one from each flight. (Will the
last team on the course please pick up and bring in the
markers-thanks)
• July 8th – (back) No Putts: Keep track of total team
putts. At the end of the round, subtract the number of total
putts from the total strokes for the team. The winning team will
have the fewest remaining strokes.
• July 15th –– (front) Closest to the Pin on #5
(competing w/all): When your ball lands on the green from your
tee shot only (not chipping on) and if it is closest to the pin
based on the market for your flight, move the appropriate flight
marker and place it next to your ball. Then cross out the
players name on the marker and put your name under it. The
winners are the 4 players closest to the pin, one from each
flight.
• July 22nd – (back) Low Score on Odd Holes (competing
w/flights): Add up your scores on the odd holes (11, 13, 15,
17). The winner will have the lowest score in each flight. Keep
track of putts for tie breakers!
• July 29th – (front) Lowest Individual Putts (competing
w/flights): Total up your putts. The winners will have the
fewest putts, one from each flight.
• August 5th – (back) Lowest Individual Score (competing
w/flights): Your total score will be handicapped adjusted. The
winner will be the lowest score from each flight.
• August 12th – (front) Flight Night #2 Tonight is the
night to play with others from your flight. Be nice and
remember, it’s just a game ! Winner will have the lowest score
from each foursome. All golfers may play.
• August 19th – (back) Low Score on Par 5’s (competing
w/flights): Add up your score on Par 5’s. The winner will have
the lowest score on Par 5’s, one from each flight. Please keep
track of your putts for tie
breakers
• August 26th – (front) For our final night and as on our
first night, up to five players can play this night, scramble or
stroke play. If 5 team members play, please play a scramble to
keep the pace of play moving.
If 4 or less team members play, feel free to play stroke play as
long as you keep pace with the golfers in front of you.
Dinner/meeting and
awarding of prizes to be determined.
